Left Bank Bordeaux
Bordeaux is the most important fine wine region in France with a long standing reputation for the excellence of its red and sweet wines.
With over 50 AOC regions within Bordeaux there is a lot to get to grips with. Several of the village or commune regions are world famous in their own right.
Although in general terms the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc reds have aromas of under ripe fruits and cedar and tobacco notes as they age, there is a lot of variation and nuance too. Quality ranges form everyday clarets to complex and elegant long lasting wines.
We have put together a great two part tasting for you to help you really get to grips with Bordeaux
Part 1 - Left Bank Bordeaux
This tasting will introduce you to the history of the region and explain why and how its wine styles developed. We will focus in on the left hand side of the region, the different quality levels of wine found here from regional to Cru Bourgeois, Cru Artisan and Cru Classe wines.
There will be seven different wines to taste including wines from the following regions:
- Haut- Medoc
- A cru classe wine
This is a tutored tasting with a digital presentation, tasting notes, tasting sheet, professional ISO tasting glasses and some food nibbles.
Our fine wine evenings are always popular and are limited to 14 people so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Please Note. This tasting is the first part of our two part look at Bordeaux.
