4 Week Iberian Wines - Tunbridge Wells
Join us as we taste our way around the Iberian peninsula discovering the diversity of unique indigenous grape varieties that both Spain and Portugal have to offer. There's so much more to Spain than Rioja and Cava. This fascinating 4 week course takes a more in depth look at exciting regions that are being rediscovered by a new generation of winemakers have only recently started to work their wonders with the UK consumer.
We'll discover the fruity whites of the North West including Albarino from Rias Baixas, Verdejo from Rueda and the up and coming Godello plus reds from Bierzo and Toro. The excellent Tempranillo reds from Ribera del Duero are a great alternative to Rioja. Elsewhere we will discover Montsant, Jumilla, Yecla, Mentrida for up and coming wines whilst also looking at the famous Priorat district for structured and wines for maturation (this one the Spanish try to keep for themselves!)
The final session will focus on the wines from Portugal including Vinho Verde, Dao, Douro and Southern Portugal.

- 5th March - Session 1 - North-West & Duero Valley
- 12th March - Session 2 - North East and Catalonia
- 19th March - Session 3 - Central and Southern Spain
- 26th March - Session 4 - Portugal
You will experience, first hand, the amazing range of grape varieties and flavours that Spain and Portugal have to offer. You will taste some classic Spanish wines, along with some new- wave wines from really cutting-edge winemakers.
The course is held at Hotel du Vin in central Tunbridge Wells.
